The Honduran Yellow Brown Scorpion is considered a fast species of scorpion. There are no reports that the Yellow Brown Scorpion has contributed to a human death, though they are seen on the LD-50 chart (lethal dose for 50% of test animals). This species is considered to be medically insignificant. They are considered to be an aggressive species by some, but actually much more defensive than aggressive. This is a more visually stimulating species, compared to some others. It is not uncommon for them to stay outside of their hides even during the daytime, though they only grow to an average length of 3.5-4 inches. This species is not often available in the pet trade, though quite a number do exist in the hobby. This species is often classified as "untouchable" due to their rapid speed and ability to become escapees and difficulty to recover. The sting is said to be equivalent to that of a Hornet and localized pain and swelling are expected at the site of the sting. |
