What are the photo watermarks for?

We watermark all photos on this site with our site name. This is not a claim of ownership. It is an attempt to prevent linking to these images by other sites. Sites that do this increase our costs since we are serving images to their customers.

We have had problems in the past with other sites linking to our images and displaying them on their pages. We have found that this solution is quite effective in preventing this.
